Secret (aka Secret Love) could be a highly entertaining, if a touch over the highest, Korean melodrama featuring the very appealing actress Hwang Jung-eum as Kang Yoo Jung, who plays a tough working, loving girl who lives together with her father, helps him run his bakery, and is loving with an earnest pupil, Ahn Do Hoon, played by Bae Soo-bin (so good because the duplicitous fiance within the K-drama 49 Days and equally dastardly here). She has been helping him obtain his studies, but despite everything she has in deep trouble him, his mother (keep a watch on her character!) still encourages him to search out a more upwardly mobile mate.
No matter – the 2 become engaged, but that very same night they’re involved in an accident that kills a fille. The heroine takes the blame and goes to jail, although her fiance was driving. The lover of the accident victim, Jo Min Hyuk, played by handsome Ji Sung, could be a rich playboy determined to form the heroine get her “crime” in as many ways as possible. The poor girl goes through such a lot, you cannot help feeling for her, especially when her devoted “fiance” proves to be just not a coward but a traitor, moving up the company ladder and leaving her behind.
Meanwhile, Min Hyuk contemplates a wedding of convenience with a wealthy childhood friend, Shin Se-yeon, played by Lee Da Hee, even while he’s setting out to thaw toward the thing of his revenge, Yoo Jung.
