Jung Da Bin plays Baek Ho Rang. She is incredibly popular and attracts many attention, particularly from her large social media following, but she includes a cold personality. When someone starts secretly threatening to reveal secrets about her, she decides to research by joining the broadcasting club.

Hwang Min Hyun is Go Eun Taek. he’s the leader of the broadcasting club and is sensible and likes his life very ordered. His personality is additionally a touch cool which puts him at odds with Ho Rang when she joins the club.

Live On may be a pretty straightforward high school drama with romance and a bit of mystery. I found it pretty basic and a small amount slow, but at only 8 episodes, it had been a fast watch.

The main plot centers around Ho Rang trying to search out out who is threatening her with a secret from her past. That’s what gives us the mystery element as she works to unravel it through joining the broadcasting club.

The drama then showcases a romance between her and also the leader of the club, Eun Taek. We get to determine the classic bickering between them initially followed by slowly warming up to every other. the link progresses nicely as they work their issues. There are some very nice heart-fluttering moments between the pair too.

We explore several other relationships involving the romance between other students, friends turned enemies, and a touch of family issues. this enables several subplots to require shape and add more to the story.

The drama also highlights some deeper issues involving school violence and its effects on students. I used to be glad to work out this subject explored, though I do think its execution was a touch lacking. I believe the 8 episode count prevented the story from going deeper with this in an exceedingly way that might be more meaningful.

SPOILERS BELOW

It’s halfway through the show before we learn obviously about Ho Rang being involved at school violence, but we don’t get the main points at that time. It then takes a pair more episodes before we do be told she was a victim.

And because the show waited to allow us a deeper check out Ho Rang’s feelings and trauma, many of her actions seemed unnecessary and confusing on why she was trying so hard to stay the key of her being a victim of bullying.

Thankfully, the ultimate episodes do an honest job of explaining her mindset and addressing a number of the shame and fears that she had experienced and why it had caused her to cover what she had gone through. I just wish it’d be executed a small amount better so we could have connected more strongly with Ho Rang and her pain earlier on. it had been nice to determine this subject addressed in such the simplest way though. The ending was really great too with good closure.

Live On could be a decent drama, but it just never fully engaged me. there’s enough occurring with the most romantic, the mystery, and every one of the opposite relationships to stay the plot moving along though. While it’s a reasonably standard high school drama, it can work for you if you only want something simple and fun with an honest story that wraps things up quite nicely.

My Rating: 6/10
