When Blackpink’s members debuted in 2016, they captured the world’s attention with their talent and beauty. One thing that made them stand out was their impeccable sense of style. Always dressed in head-to-toe designer outfits, members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa quickly became symbols of luxury and style in K-pop.
Soon after, French fashion houses started reaching out to Blackpink’s members, each selecting a member to become their brand ambassador. Today, we show why each Blackpink’s girl the perfect fit for these fashion houses.
Jennie for Chanel
The first Blackpink’s members to partner with a French fashion house, Jennie is popular among fans not only for her singing and rapping talent, but also for her impeccable fashion taste. Unafraid to experiment with clothes, Jennie effortlessly transforms from sweet and youthful to sexy and charismatic with her outfits.
Affectionately called the “human Chanel” by her fans, she caught the attention of Chanel because she represents a cool and effortless millennial style.
“Chanel aims for modernity,” a Chanel Korea spokesperson said. “Young and trendy millennials are our target customers … We are very interested in stylish K-pop stars. Jennie’s loyalty to the brand as well as her trendy style matches well with Chanel’s image.”

Vocalist Rosé has always been a creative spirit: she frequently releases covers of R&B and pop songs and adds her own creative twist with her signature singing voice. Rosé has also proven to be the cool girl that likes to go along with the other members’ jokes and doesn’t mind when they pick on her for fun.
It then came as no surprise that Saint Laurent approached the singer to be their Korean brand ambassador. Saint Laurent has always been about creativity, pushing boundaries in the name of empowerment and freedom of thought.
Australian fashion magazine Russh dubbed Rosé as the “picture-perfect Saint Laurent girl. Edgy and ethereal at the same time, she is both the girl next door and the girl at the rock show.”
Lisa for Celine
The “maknae” or youngest member of the group, Lisa is known for her dance moves and powerful rap verses. She’s the most-followed among the four members on Instagram and this can be attributed to her strong and charismatic personality, which she’s never afraid to show off.
She quickly attracted the attention of French fashion house Celine. Now at the helm of designer Hedi Slimane, Celine’s past few seasons have revamped popular trends of the past so that they leave a stronger impression. It’s easy to see why Celine chose to team up with Lisa, whose stage presence is unparalleled.

Jisoo for Dior

The eldest member of the group, Jisoo became popular before their debut, when YG Entertainment released a photo of the idol. Many were quick to point out her beautiful and feminine features. Since launching, she’s proven to be the sweet and playful girl-next-door.
This image of Jisoo has been acknowledged by their stylist: “When other people see Jisoo, they say she has a nice and pretty image, but for me, she gives me a really classy vibe.”
Dior then partnered with Jisoo to become the Korean ambassador for their clothing, perfume and cosmetic lines. A brand known for its elegance and femininity, Dior has since been dressing Jisoo in many of its classic designs.
It’s clear that these French fashion houses made the best decision to partner with the Blackpink girls, since their brand identities are mirrored in each of the girls’ personalities.
