According to an exclusive media outlet report on August 18, f(x)’s Krystal reportedly parts ways with SM Entertainment, her 10-year agency.
One industry insider informed reporters, “Krystal has decided to leave SM Entertainment after over 10 years, and she is currently preparing for a new start under a different place.“
Furthermore, the report stated that Krystal has been in contact with numerous domestic management agencies focused around actors and actresses. While Krystal has held meetings with various agency representatives, it seems she has yet to confirm a contract with one agency in particular. She is seeking out an agency willing to support not only her acting promotions, but her career as a solo musician, the report claimed.
In response, SME stated, “Krystal‘s exclusive contract expires at the end of August. We are planning to discuss various possibilities including her contract’s renewal soon.“
Meanwhile, Krystal debuted as a member of f(x) in 2009, then went on to establish an acting career outside of her group promotions. She is expected to star in an upcoming OCN drama later this fall, titled ‘Search‘. Her older sister, Jessica Jung also left SM Entertainment to focus on her own fashion brand BLANC & ECLARE.
